The Prince Golf Course at Princeville at Hanalei stakes claim as not only one of Hawaii's highest-rated courses but one of the world's most demanding tests of golf. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., the course winds through dense jungle and has plenty of spots for disaster.
But it's also one of Hawaii's most unique and beautiful spots for golf. The course features some oceanfront spots on the sixth and seventh hole, including a shot across a lush hillside on the par-3 seventh, to winding within and above jungle. Many green locations are perched right next to trouble, making accuracy key. The par-4 13th hole, "Waterfall," is one of the worthy signature holes here, especially now that a recent storm helped return the waterfall behind the green after a several-year absence.
The entire 18-hole set opened in 1991 and is located about a 10-minute drive from the St. Regis Princeville Resort, where courtesy transportation is provided.
Located on Maui’s southern coast, the Makena Beach & Golf Resort boasts 310 guestrooms and suites offering private lanais with ocean and mountain-top views, 18 hole championship golf and a secluded white-sand beach. Combined with an exceptional aloha spirited staff, this secluded hideaway provides the best of a Maui vacation. more»
