Waikoloa Resort's Beach Course on the Big Island
Waikoloa Resort's Beach Course is one of two courses at the Big Island resort. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., it's the older of the two (the other is the Kings' Course) and perhaps a little easier.
The Beach Course gets its name from the ocean view on the par-5 seventh hole, which backs up against the Pacific Ocean, but there are plenty of other scenic holes as well.
Much of the course plays around inland lagoons and lava fields, including the par-4 fifth, which winds around a very large lava formation.
The par 5s are especially strong on the Beach Course, with the fourth, at 586 yards, playing alongside a large lake.
