By GolfPublisher Staff, Staff Report

On the Big Island of Hawaii, Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel is upbeat, breezy and dramatic. Sharing 1,839 acres of oceanfront paradise with the legendary Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel opened in 1994. The hotel is nestled into the bluffs above the #1-rated Hapuna Beach in a flowing, contemporary Hawaiian style. All 350 of its guestrooms are ocean-facing that radiate from an open-air lobby that provides sweeping views of the Kohala coastline. In 1997, the U.S. Golf Association named Hapuna "The Course of the Future." This Arnold Palmer/Ed Seay-designed 18-hole championship course is nestled into the dramatic natural contours of the land from the shoreline to about 700 feet above sea level. It is a links-style course featuring spectacular views of the Kohala Coast and the Pacific, with snow-capped Mauna Kea volcano as a backdrop. Hapuna Golf Course has been called the most environmentally-sensitive course in the Western region.

  • Nothing here more important than golf.

Best golfing around. Everything at these facilities and hotel is secondary to golf. While amenities at the hotel are lacking and many of the staff do not speak English at least when it comes to golf everything is great. Stay elsewhere but golf here.
