Traveling golf school returns to Kauai Marriott Resort

Kauai Marriott ResortLIHUE, Kauai -- Golfers who are serious about improving their game know it's important to understand technique, golf equipment, fitness, and the rules and protocol of the game. But set aside the technical aspect and it's equally important to set realistic goals and expectations to keep the game fun and exciting.

You can expect to learn all of this and much more at the Kris Moe Golf School, which returns to the Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club now through March 7, 2003. Expert golf instruction from PGA professionals Kris Moe and Mark Favell takes place at the award-winning Kauai Lagoons Golf Club located adjacent to the resort, home to the Kiele and Mokihana courses.

"Golf is much more than learning the golf swing, it's also learning to play the game on the course," explains Kris Moe. "We spend about half our day on technique and the other half on the course coaching the game."

Moe also believes that taking golf lessons is critical because good instruction will guarantee results which usually translates into a better experience playing golf.

"Golf information and tips are a dime a dozen out there," Moe adds. "Golfers need to have their pro lay out a clear and simplified plan for incremental successes made just for them."

"I never took golf lessons so I really didn't know what to expect going into this," said Rod Lau, director of sales at the Kauai Marriott and 16-handicapper who participated in the golf school in December. "Kris taught me a lot about my golf swing and how to approach to the game mentally. I now see the game in a much different light and am amazed at how much I've learned in such a short period of time."

Moe has been a golf professional for more than 20 years. He began his professional playing career in Australia and has traveled through Asia, Europe, South America, and the United States. His career highlights include a fourth place finish in the Australia PGA and a 25th place finish in the 1985 British Open.
