The first hole on the Gold Course at Wailea Golf Club is a downhill, dogleg left par 4. The par-3 third hole on the Gold Course at Wailea Golf Club features lava rock to the right of the green. Both the Gold (shown here) and Emerald Courses at Wailea Golf Club were designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. The 11th hole on the Gold Course at Wailea Golf Club is a par 3 over brush. The par-4 ninth hole on the Gold Course at Wailea Golf Club plays uphill toward the clubhouse. The 15th hole on the Gold Course at Wailea Golf Club is an uphill par 5.The 16th hole on the Gold Course at Wailea Golf Club is a par 3 that heads back toward the sea and West Maui Mountains. The 18th hole on the Gold Course at Wailea Golf Club is a downhill par 4. Considered the signature hole of the Gold Course at Wailea Golf Club, the eighth plays over lava rock down toward the ocean.

The Gold at Wailea Golf Club is unapologetically the most challenging of the three championship courses at Wailea Golf Club, part of the 1,500-acre resort on Maui's southern coast and 17 miles from Kahului Airport. The golfcourse hosted The Champions Skins Game from 2001-2007 and plays over 7,000 yards from the championship tees. The Robert Trent Jones Jr. design opened in 1994 and features his signature large, splashed bunkers, while utilizing the land's natural undulations. It was also recognized by the Maui Historical Society for its preservation of prehistoric lava rock walls during course construction. Views from the Gold course expand beyond Wailea and to Molokini Islet and Pacific Ocean.

    The first time you play here, the view is so beatiful that it is hard to concentrate on your golf game!
    It is amazing in every respect, with challenges that match the scenic wonders.
    Play this course twice, at least.

    I've played many of the great courses in the US. and if I had to pick one course to play every day for the rest of my life I would pick this one. Great layout, super course conditions, awesome weather and unmatched views.

    This must be what heaven is like.

    This is a very pleasant, fun place for a round of golf. The layout is well thought out and has a pleasing blend of lava and fairway, with the ocean visible on most holes. The service was fine, if not quite up to the standards of the top Hawaii resorts, and the condition of the course was superb. Overall this is a worthwhile golf experience.

    I've been on the Gold a number of times and watched Palmer and Nicklaus and Player in person when they played in the Champions Skins Game. Great risk-reward opportunities on this layout, conditioning is always good, the employees friendly and helpful.
